Timoshenkov effectively combines scientific and pedagogical activity with practical realization of scientific developments.

Timoshenkov is the founder, the general director and the chief designer of the company Mikropriborov Laboratory, specializing on working out and manufacturing of inertial micromechanical sensors and systems. The company consists of the best professionals of Russia in the field of microelectromechanical systems and has extensive production connections. The products are in great and stable demand of leading Russian and foreign consumers working in the areas of navigation, orientation, control systems and telemetry.

Alexey Sergeyevich is a sports tourist, mountaineer, skydiver and traveler. He is a participant and organizer of complex sports hikes, including Pamir Marathon (2009), the intersection of the Taimyr Peninsula, and the Greenland Islands on kites (2013, 2014). He was awarded the medal for carrying out rescue operation in 2007 on Kongur mountain (7719 meters, Chinese Pamir) - For commonwealth in the name of rescue.
