CNews, the largest high-tech publication in Russia and the CIS, published a ranking of the top 40 largest IT developers in Russia for 2019, in which Software Product Group ranked 17th. The leaders of the rating were the following companies: 1C*, IKS Holding and Financial Technology Center.

A number of company indicators were taken into account when compiling the ranking: total revenue in 2019, revenue from the sale of proprietary products in 2019 and 2018 and its share in total revenue, as well as the company's products themselves.

"Software Product" ranked 17th in the ranking, achieving total revenue of 4.4 million rubles at the end of last year. The proceeds from the sale of the company's own products increased by 21% and amounted to 2.5 million rubles, or 57% of the total income of the organization.

Besides, CNews publication has summarized the results of the last year and has made a rating of 100 largest IT-companies in Russia. The top three were NCC, Lanit and EPAM Systems. "Software Product" took the 46th line in the rating. The publication compared 2019 results to 2018 in terms of total revenue and headcount, as well as output per person in 2019. For example, Software Product's total revenue increased by 7.7% from 4.1 million in 2018 to 4.4 million in 2019.

"In 2019, Software Product was able to grow revenue and get among the market leaders thanks to the implementation of such large-scale projects in the field of transport as the creation of a unified ticket system in Moscow, which connects carriers and city services of Moscow and New Moscow. It is also worth noting the project to develop a single parking space in the capital, which helped to unload the city centre and enable public transport to move faster. Also by means of projects for creation of a number of video analytics systems it became possible to set up a more effective management of vehicle and pedestrian flows," General Director of Software Product Nikolay Podobaylo commented on the rating results.

According to CNews, at the end of last year, the global IT market grew by 0.5%, and Russian IT market increased by 7% or up to USD 25 bn. However, due to the epidemiological situation in the world, according to analysts' forecasts about the results of 2020, the world IT market may collapse by 8%, and the Russian market by 30% in rubles.

According to the results of 2019, the revenues of Russian IT companies included in the top-100 edition rating grew on average more than twice faster than the market itself - by 17% in dollars and by 21% in rubles. CNews also notes that the domestic IT market is becoming more service-oriented - IT services account for about 78% of its total revenue. The largest customers are still in the public sector, telecommunications and finance, and the key technologies are such areas as the Internet of Things and various artificial intelligence technologies.

According to Nikolai Podobaylo, General Director of Software Product, from the technological point of view, the Russian market is ready for challenges and fast development, but there are still a lot of bureaucratic obstacles that significantly slow down the industry.

He added that Software Product is practically a pioneer in creating superservices, which have great potential in the market. Businesses that provide services to citizens can be involved in this sphere, but business representatives, other than banks, are not allowed access to the SIEMS (Interagency Electronic Interaction System), and access to the UPGU (Single Public Services Portal) through some software interfaces is not yet ready. For this reason, legal automated business work with government data and sending documents to government systems is difficult.

"Agree that this is not suitable for mass work. The potential for the development of superservices is limited to citizen-state interaction cases, and this potential has practically dried up. It would be much more interesting to include business in the cases. At the same time, the current situation with the coronavirus has shown that the creation of superservices and automation of state services, which helps receive services without leaving home, can come in handy at any time. If, after the situation is normalized, the government will more actively involve business in the process of creating and using superservices, the demand for them will only grow," Podobaylo concluded.
